Kyle was born and raised on Vancouver Island. He grew up with a deep adoration and respect for the trees and forests of the West Coast.
Through various forms, Kyle has been making art from nature for several years. In 2013 he began making wooden jewellery using fallen Arbutus branches. This took his interest in small scale woodwork to new levels, as he continued to explore various projects with fallen wood and driftwood.
In 2015 Kyle moved to Cumberland, BC, where he linked up with the Wood Vibe Tribe and began to learn and explore many new techniques with woodwork. Many of his pieces draw on influences from the natural world – from animals to sacred geometry – and aim to bring forth imagery that reminds us of our innate respect and love for nature.
